today i tried to open my toshiba laptop.it does not open.I pressed switch ,no response.

it is toshiba satellite with window vista.

does anybody know what should i do???

do you want to try pressing the start button for few seconds (pro 20 secs) and release and press to start again...

Can you give a bit more information?

Its silly but sometimes you have to check if ure power adapter is functioning correctly (or even plugged in).

when was the last time you booted normally and how did you shutdown? Did you install any programs before this event happened?

And like Raxi said, try pressing the power button for a bit longer.

Unfortunately if yours is a hardware problem there is very little you can do about it. But if its a software problem then chances of it getting fixed are higher.

ya! similar problem happens in my same branded laptop. In that time, I used to take out the battery which is attached below the laptops just for a seconds and again refix it then it starts to work smoothly. try same dude this may help you.

the best thing i would suggest you is take out the battery and let is out for a while and then again put the battery again and restart it should do the trick it happend to me also and i had hp
