Do you guya have a specific feeling or emotion that you link to Dashain? Well every morning when I got up in the first day of tika... I ALWAYS had the same feeling. EVEN when I had not been home for Dashain for 5 years I had the same feeling when I was home for it! Every dashain morning use to be sunny(as I remember it), and there would be no screeching noise of the vehicles. It use to be quiet. And I would be excited about bathing and wearing my new clothes, meeting the relatives, collecting loads and loads of money and playing cards!!!!! MAN do I miss those days. My younger cousins would ask me.. "dijju, yo pali katti paisa disinchha?" as I was the generous one. My big brothers and cousins would only give Rs.5 to the bachhas! haha.. Once when I was 8, my uncle said to me in the dashain morning "Nanu, talai katti paisa chahinchha bhan! Talai jatti chahinchha ma tyati dinchu!" And I thought and thought and thought and said, "Kanchobuwa malai 10 rupees chahinchha!!" my voice full of enthusiasm! Gone are those days to never come back. I miss it all with all my heart!
