About the apartment concern, it depends upon where you live in hawaii. Average price range for $1100-$2500 per month. I have two bedroom apartment for $1350. You have to scan the area. You have to look up the apartment in Craigslist or online. Apartments are owned by different owner. There is no apartment office where you can go talk.

If you can move easily , meaning no kids and job concern for wife, you should go for it. I tried to find one either in Hawaii or Alaska after I graduate, but I didn got one, but that was 2008-9 , crappy time. One of my MD just quit job and move to Hawaii on his wife's income, so why not try Hawaii living while you are young. But don't have too much expectation, it will be just like some new place with option of lot of outdoor activities.

@deepocean, the apartment where i live is not far from that area. It will take around 20 mins drive. There are also nice and affordable apartments around 96814. But the place where i live is center place for different places.

I am looking in the particular area 96814 at the moment because I wouldn't not have
car there. Else 20 minutes drive would n't have been a problem.
