Hey folks just wondering if any of ya'll are also like me stuck in a desi company and waiting for H1 and job. Man this startegy sucks, dont it? First we finish our degree and then we look for job and th eemployers show their back when you are in OPT for sponsorship coz they dont want to hire without Green card or H1. If somebody is in the same situation as I am then what are our OPTions. Do we look for masters in Canada or study MBA or go back to Nepal. I have bachelors in Accounting. Some suggestions or comments are welcomed. I think this is a big issue.

BA Accounting - go for MBA in USA, file your canada migration papers, and move to UK on PhD from a 3 room Bengali University. I am on step 1 at the moment, just postponing my eventual eviction from this country.

B'more... I was in your situation last May 2007 and right now eagerly waiting for H1B result.

Going to Dhoti's place was my last option.. Lucky enough I got a job as Staff Accountant in a great medical company which initially was not very excited to hire me (because of those papers and bla bla...). In the beginning, I just told them that they just need to give me some papers to extend my work permit after one year.. and once I passed my 3 months.. I started making all kinds of stories and finally had them sponsor me and pay for all the legal fees..BUT remember, I was (and am ) working as a freak ... Now the company is ready to keep me at any cost.. Sad part is if my H1B does not gets approved the company cannot do anything....

Anyways, I suggest you to look for a job by youself and make dhoti's place as the last option. There is high demand of Staff Accountant.
