Someone asked me how many Nepalis in the US and I guessed around 200 thousand. Would that be a good guesstimate? He asked me the total Nepali population which is around 25 million. So that makes approx 1% of nepalis living in the US. Hmmm interesting

Nepal's population is estimated to be around 32 million now. ( I read it in some news recently ) . As far as the number of Nepalese living in the US is concerned, I'd say prolly around 100,000 ( including students, workers, legal/illegal residents ).

It is surprising, though, Nepalese are so divided along the lines of "legal", "illegal".
Shame on you guys (and, girls), what the hell do you think you can accomplish through pretenses? We are here to make fortune (I know, there are exceptions!).
Let's be frank and confess to our own "folks" than to be found out by the "law enforcement" of this ignorant land.

I used to work in the US Embassy in KTM and untill Feb 21st 2006, the consulate issued 1,78,051 visas in all the catogories.
